Inhaled Medication With a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI)
Several medicines for chronic lung diseases like asthma or COPD are now delivered in a dry powder inhaler. Since the medicines are dry powder, they must be delivered in a special inhaler. When you inhale fast enough the medicine is released.
The basic technique for using a dry powdered medication is:
- Exhale
- Put mouthpiece in your mouth
- Breathe in Quickly
