This Laboratory offers therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) for drugs used to treat infectious diseases. The IDPL currently provides comprehensive anti-mycobacterial, anti-fungal and anti-HIV drug serum concentration monitoring using high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC).
Our assays can aid in maximizing the therapeutic benefit of these drug, while potentially minimizing their toxicity. Our laboratory techniques specifically can define concentrations for individual drugs in patients receiving complex multi-drug regimes, without treatment interruption. TDM can be used to define a patient's drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination.
